今有求物之法，以铝氟化物之式为要。欲明其式，当审其质之合化之理。铝者，性活泼，于化事多与他质相结。氟者，亦为活泼之素。二者相遇，依其化合价之规，相化合以成铝氟化物。
铝之化合价常为正三价，氟之化合价常为负一价。为使化合物之总价为零，需三氟与一铝相化合。故铝氟化物之式为$AlF_{3}$。由此式，可知其质之构成，于化学诸事，如析其性、制其物，皆有大益。
